Total Quality Management (TQM) is a customer- and market-oriented approach of tools and methodologies to improve the products and services provided by a company.
The strength of TQM, which originated in Japan, is to create a common base and a binder between all the techniques and tools that approach the world of quality (Deming Model, Crosby Model, Juran Model, Ishikawa Model, EFQM Model) up to the most recent and innovative Six Sigma.
In its purest form, Six Sigma aims at harnessing the principles and tools of statistical science to reduce business risks, on all levels of an organisation, from four different perspectives:
The concept behind Six Sigma is that, once the defects in a process have been measured, it is possible to systematically identify how to eliminate them with the aim of striving for “zero defects” as far as possible. This corresponds to the six sigma quality level of 3.4 parts per million (ppm).
In projects tackled following the Lean Six Sigma methodology, concepts and tools of each of the two improvement strategies (Lean and Six Sigma) are combined together following the DMAIC approach: Defining, Measuring, Analysing, Implementing and Controlling, giving maximum results in improving processes in terms of both efficiency and quality.
When applied correctly, the Lean Six Sigma methodology leads to tangible results of increased productivity and profitability and increases the corporate culture towards improvement with rigour and rationality: the economic benefits can be estimated in the order of 2-3% of turnover with peaks of up to 10%.
CONSIDI deploys its professionalism both in the direct management of Lean Six Sigma and Total Quality projects in the company and in the organisation of distinctive training courses thanks to teaching methods in which emphasis is placed on the practical side. Candidates are given the opportunity to immediately put into practice what they have learnt during the theoretical sessions through involvement in presentations, didactic simulations, business games, active review of the topics covered in each module and management of company projects in parallel with the course itself.
Furthermore, thanks to a partnership CONSIDI recently signed with the Six Sigma Management Institute - Europe - link to the partnership page? , a global reference for training in this discipline. The offer is enriched with the MindPro® e-learning platform through which it is possible to obtain Green Belt and Black Belt certifications issued directly by the Six Sigma Management Institute.
